abuse one another or to chatter or to indict or accuse …’8 We note that Paul accuses the Corinthians of creating ‘schisms’ (schismata—1:10; 11:18; 12:25), chattering (14:26–40) and ‘indicting and accusing’! These and other examples from the period cast light on much of this letter and indicate that Paul was sensitive to a church developing a bad reputation.
